abstract:

GEO 44.11 is an experimental artistic project that explores the “sound identity” concept. Through the Sound Art language and its procedural displacement, this work is centered on the relation of sound with territory, memory, patrimony and local identity. This project, which takes place in the cultural spaces of Curacautín, Victoria and Carahue, three cities in the south of Chile, consists of a sound intervention of public places with phonographic creations, digital resources, noise and objectual pieces that are also part of a sound art installation.
By requiring silence, sensible listening and soundscape, Geo 44.11 offers an opening to the sound phenomena inherent to our life and decisive in the way we live in society and experience the world.
